Kelly Pope
Education Advisor
Kelly brings 25 years of educational technology experience and a deep understanding of the early childhood social sector and philanthropy landscape to the FLOC team.
As a technology consultant for
Opportunities Exchange, Kelly partners with states to facilitate early childhood data exchange between EC providers and state administrations, enabling data analysis to inform state EC policy. She works with OppEx to evangelize an ECE Technology Ecosystem, a new model that will benefit families, providers, and state administrators by linking all ECE stakeholder data together.
Kelly was an early advocate of personalized learning, and as a software executive in the Silicon Valley designing interactive instructional technology products, she developed one of the first software platforms that delivered personalized digital content to both educators and students. Since transitioning to the non-profit sector, Kelly’s remains focused the early learning sector where she advises young edtech start-up companies on business models and technology implementation.
Kelly serves on numerous non-profit boards including Silicon Valley Social Ventures (
SV2) where she is a Partner and Strategic Advisor. She serves as Vice Chair on the
New Teacher Center board and is also on the board of
Growing Up New Mexico, working to bring structural change to early childhood care and education in New Mexico.
Kelly holds a B.S. in electrical engineering/signal processing from U.C. Davis and was one of the first women to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy.
